We started a new project today, taking an small object; magnifying and duplicating it with cardboard. There were lots to choose from, bananas, potatoes, bones, cacti, and claws. I played with the cardboard for a bit, seeing how easily it could be shaped and pealed apart and have decided the best approach is to build a frame and then "skin" it, akin to paper mache. I've sketched it out but my experimentation took most of the allotted time so I'll begin work on it soon.
sketches of each segment of the arm, upper/middle/claw and how I might frame them (subject to change)
Our second task for the day was to find different 5"x5" compositions in randomly placed dots. There were a few sized dots to play with (I didn't know they made 2" hole punches) Afterwords we arranged groups of them into what ones had the most depth/flatness, then we made a "pretty" one.
