1. How those relationships changed from location to location and as you aged

The child hood friends i’m still close with, other casual school acquaintances have fallen through the cracks. Now friendships are formed based on mutual interests rather than forced interactions.

Navy friends are different, we rotate around all the time, in specific job communities chances are good you’ll see each other again but they usually fall off the earth after they transfer or get out.

I don’t know, not much of a talker as a kid or now. It’s to the point, not one for small talk or deep meaningful conversations.

Bear/Matt/Mauro - lived across the street, Bear/Matt lived with in college, was in all 3 weddings - positive influences, main group of friends for the past 28 years.

Didn’t really have any negative peers, bullies, disruptive class clowns lived a boring life for the first 22 years.

You, Me and that guy

This photo was taken New Years Eve, and was kept because it was a good time with friends. I chose it because it fit the assignment. It was taken by an old friend I don't believe it influences the way I looks at the photo or the way it was taken. The photographers attitude was happy towards the subjects when the picture was taken as was the attitude of the subjects towards the photographer. The pictures was meant to be viewed on facebook by friends and family who were unable to attend the event as a snap shot of the events. I don't know if I'll remember the photo in 10 years.

This photo was taken in Iraq, and was kept because it showed a different side of the war. I chose it because it fit the assignment. It was taken by me and I don't know who the kid is. I don't recall my attitude towards the subjects when the picture was taken but I do remember the kid being mean to other children. The picture was meant to be viewed by friends and family to show that it's not all bad over there. I will probably remember this photo in 10 years.

Rock, Scissors, Cardboard...claw

Sucess! Cardboard claw complete. There were a few glitches, dirty glue spots, minor perforation showing. But all in all I like the way it came out. The claw teeth I'm especially proud of, they're symmetrical on top and bottom, and think they made a home-run pass in the 3rd period. (sports metaphor, FTW) I would pay slightly more attention next time on the way i attached the individual pieces together, but cardboard is notoriously unruly and there would be some great thought involved.

This project threw me for a loop. I had a hard time breaking out of the thought process that words needed to be read. Text is text, unless you make it not...text?

So, in order to make them non text, i rotated, cut, and all around de-text-ured (get it).

and here we have them

cut into strips and revolved around a point, using the text-rivers to make lines that also revolve. and to top the whole thing off, "REVOLVE" cut into individual letters and...you guessed it, revolved around the center. Harmoniously named...Revolve. Weird.

Here, large print words cut in half and upside down. Gradient-ing upwards into smaller words. This one contrasted with the words "Top heavy"

On a side note, I believe paying to have things matted is tooootttallly worth it.

I felt the piece went well, and seemed to be well received by the majority of people in class. It could have been longer had i not bought out all the similar green colors. I do however, enjoy that I didn't need any glue and that the army men stayed on their own accord. Prep time took longer than the actual construction, the base of the army men had a extra plastic around the edges that needed to be trimmed off.
